1. I really wasn't sure if I was running this, so I went about my normal workout routine. This was day 6 of working out with no rest, and I did legs on Friday.
2. The race was at 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. Who fucking schedules that? We were at a big birthday party that day, and I ate picnic food that didn't sit well in my stomach. I sat there sober and waited to go for my run while everyone else drank! So at least that was an accomplishment.
3. I haven't been running a whole lot since I started P90X. Probably only between 6-10 miles a week.
4. It was torrential downpours from mile 3 to mile 5.
5. I drank quite a few beers Friday night
I felt good for mile 1, I started getting a cramp at mile 2 and was like "what the fuck? I can't even run 5 miles now?" It got better and I continued on. It was 83 degrees and the humidity was horrible. It started pouring at mile 3 and I actually welcomed it. Mile 4 and 5 felt great and I was strong. I don't know why the beginning was so awful. I wore my HRM and I think that was a mistake. I kept looking at my heart rate and it felt constricting. I think I'll leave it at home next time!
I didn't work out at all yesterday. This morning I did P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps (47:50 calories 204). I'll be running 3 miles @ lunch and doing Ab Ripper after work. This will put me at 6 AP's for today.

I can't stand running without my HRM...I feel naked and lost without it. It gives me something to obsess over and it takes my mind off of the pain. ;)
Give yourself a break, Kelly! You did a great job!
I hate evening races! 7pm on a Saturday?
Kelly you did great! Like you said 6 days no rest, beer, lack of rest and you only went over by a minute on last years time. So, next year go back and claim your vengence.
Kel you did great!!!
I'd kill for you time.
And I also think you look very pretty without makeup.
Wow I think you did awesome....
